Corban was incorporated in August 2001 as a limited liability company. At its inception, the main business line was selling grain produce from local farmers to large-scale buyers such as the World Food Programme, and other international and local bodies.

Corban was a member of a consortium of Ugandan grain trading companies that united to supply Malawi with food at the height of the food crisis in 2002.

Over the next five years, Corban transitioned from the agriculture business towards properties and now holds a series of buildings including resorts and estates.
